You can enjoy fun and festivities year-round in Natchez. Every month there are several activities and events from which to choose, from major productions such as the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race, to the numerous parades and weekend special events. An updated schedule of events can be found at

Natchez is vastly culturally wealthy. Offerings such as the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians, the NAPAC Museum, Historic Jefferson College, the Natchez Visitor Center, the Natchez National Historical Park, Natchez Trace Parkway, William Johnson House and Mount Locust Visitors Center, Natchez Under-the-Hill and the numerous Antebellum homes that are open to the public provide retirees an opportunity to view the richness of Natchez' history.

Natchez Music Festival features a wide variety of musical entertainment over four weeks that includes opera, light opera, operetta, musical theatre, jazz, a concert series and plantation recitals. Held each May, details of this year's productions can be found at  .

The Grand Village of the Natchez Indians is open all year and offers a variety of activities including the Natchez Pow-Wow. Additionally, you can tour the grounds and browse in the museum.

Natchez celebrates Mardi Gras, Natchez Style in February. Krewes in Natchez have parades and respond quickly to "Throw me somethin' mista!"

An annual event established in 1989, now the Natchez Literary and Film Celebration, is sponsored by Copiah-Lincoln Community College, the National Park Service, Alcorn State University and the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. Held each year in February, the event celebrates a new and unique theme.  Details are available at .

Natchez also boasts many outdoor recreational activities. Golfing (with our own city golf course at Duncan Park), bicycling, swimming, walking, hunting, fishing and boating are only a few offerings.
